Where the Sidewalk Ends is a 1950 film noir directed and produced by Otto Preminger. written by Ben Hecht, and starring Dana Andrews and Gene Tierney. Based on the novel Night Cry by William L. Stuart. The story is about a cop who has a reputation for being rough with suspects and is warned he has one last chance. Almost immediately he accidently kills a suspect, hides the body, and frames a local crime boss.
